Portree is the main town on the Isle of Skye, 34 miles north from the Isle of Skye Bridge.  When you arrive in Portree,  keep to the main road, which turns left on to Bank Street and then turns right on to Bosville Terrace and after the left hand corner you are on Mill Road.  Your cottage is the 5th of the six houses on Mill Road and parking is opposite, on the seaward side.

Eating Out

Eating out is one of the pleasures of being on holiday, and Skye now boasts an impressive range of restaurants, from casual to fine dining.

A few we would recommend for good food and drink to suit a range of budgets are Café Arriba, The Caledonian Cafe, Kinloch Lodge and The Three Chimneys.

Also in Portree we have a good Indian Restaurant as well as a Chinese Takeaway and two Fish and Chip shops, not forgetting the Seafood Restaurants, Harbour View and Sea Breezes.

Things to do

There are lots of things to do on the Isle of Skye including Horse Riding, Boat trips, Swimming or going to the Cinema. Visit the historic Dunvegan Castle, go Canoeing at the White Wave centre or even hire a bike or rent fishing equiptment. Many of the local pubs and bars also offer live music throughout the week. The choice is yours!

There are many interesting shops within range of the Cottage, offering everything you’d need! From outdoor and walking gear to classic Skye woollens. There is also a little Co-op just down the road, so having your home base in Portree gives you the most freedom to explore this beautiful Island.
